Description
In order to generate more awareness for the fledging electric vehicle brand, a web video-series was produced by the Wall Street Journal, featuring Oscar Isaac as the host. The team at code d’azur was tasked with creating the web experience to host the videos as well as feature on some of the information covered in the series.
One of the mandates was for the web experience to differentiate itself from the default Polestar.com look and feel, as well as have a greater emphasis on slick and smooth animations and transitions.
The video content was being created in parallel with the website, thus most of the design process had to be well thought-out and planned so that assets and content could be integrated seamlessly without disrupting the design or narrative.
Supplementary infographics were also designed for each episode. The timeframe for creation and development were extremely tight for this phase, however the team still managed to create bespoke (and animated) infographic designs for each topic.
Results
Making aNew was initially intended for the North American market, however the finished result was so impressive that the other Polestar markets were asking to be able to include it in their regions.
Site analytics showed that over 80% of viewers watched at least 30% of the video. Also, 4% of visitors completed the experience by going into the vehicle customization, with 1% completely configuring their own Polestar.
